Monday, June 13 – 7:00pm, Room 9
The Southminster Book Club will meet next on June 13, 7:00pm and will discuss The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History — By Robert M. Edsel with Bret Witter
From the Washington Times review: “The Monuments Men… is a remarkable history of the war in Europe. The book uses key battles — Salerno, Naples, D-Day, Saint-Lo, Aachen, the Bulge — as the backdrop to the story of men who risked their lives saving what Eisenhower saw as the symbols of “all that we are fighting to preserve.”
Copies of the book are available in a library Book Club Kit located in the church copy room behind the door. Borrow a book and leave your name on a slip of paper in the book box. Please return the book at, or before, the June meeting. Thanks much and Happy Reading!
