The Southminster Foundation funds grants to support initiatives by community non-profit organizations that serve the needs of our neighbors. Since its beginnings in 1979, the Foundation has given over $750,000 in grants to more than 170 community organizations. View grant distributions for 2015 here.
The Foundation gives priority to local organizations that support homeless persons and provide food, housing, medical care, and emergency assistance for low-income families. Grant requests should be submitted before March 1 for evaluation by the Grant Committee.
Church members are invited to attend monthly board meetings, which are held the first Saturday of each month, September through June, in the church library. Church members are also welcome to serve on the Board and on the Nomination, Grant, and Promotion Committees.
The Southminster Foundation welcomes contributions (of cash, appreciated securities, real estate, life insurance, or annuities), memorial gifts, and bequests by will or trust. All such gifts help to grow the Foundation’s ability to serve the church and the local community.
