Southminster Foundation -old

President Janet Cruz shares the history and work of Southminster Foundation for Foundation Sunday on June 28th, 2020.

The Southminster Presbyterian Church Foundation seeks to support nonprofit organizations that serve Washington County and the local vicinity in the areas of housing, food, health care, and community development. The Foundation also helps support various missions and ministries of Southminster Presbyterian Church.

Since its beginning in 1979, The Foundation has awarded grants to over 170 non-profit organizations totaling more than $830,000. The Foundation’s current investment portfolio is over $750,000. Distributions for 2020, from the investment’s growth, will be $12,700 to non-profit organizations and $12,300 to the Southminster Presbyterian Church operating budget.

Church members are invited to attend monthly Foundation board meetings, which are held the first Saturday of each month, September through June, in the church conference room. Church members are welcome to serve on the Board and on the Foundation’s Nomination, Grant, and Promotion Committees.
