Mission News

Picture16Dear Southminster Friends,

I am so thankful for the prayers and support that made it possible for me to spend an incredible summer working with women and children in a red-light district and at a children’s home in India.  On December 2, I will be returning to India for a year-long commitment with Rays of Hope Ministries, which runs the children’s home where I served and lived this summer.  Rays of Hope Ministries is a Christian organization based outside of Mumbai, India that aims to bring hope to the hopeless – orphans, HIV positive children, children of sex workers, and the destitute.  As a full-time mission worker for Rays of Hope, I will use my business training to help with the ministry’s administration and organization, while also continuing to invest in the lives of the children I worked with and fell in love with this summer.

Please be praying for me and for the success of this mission.  In addition to your prayers, I am also in need of financial support.  My costs for the year will be $8,000 for flights, room and board, and local transportation.  Any support you can give would be greatly appreciated, and anything I receive above this amount I will put towards supplies, gifts, and birthday parties for the children.  Danyavad (“thank you”) for your prayers and support!

With gratitude,  Rebecca Walker
