Pastor John

Dear Friends,

The General Assembly is almost upon us. We have a role to play.  We will host commissioners and guests on Sunday, June 19, during worship.   We have a guest preacher that day, Dr. Patricia K. Tull of Louisville Seminary and author of Inhabiting Eden: Christians, the Bible, and the Ecological Crisis.    Following an exciting worship service we will have a potluck dinner in which we will feed approximately 50 guests from General Assembly.

We will need many hands for this great work.

Several members of our choir will be singing for General Assembly worship on Saturday, June 18.   Everyone is invited to this huge celebration.  It is pretty impressive.

You are all invited to volunteer at the General Assembly.   We will post a variety of ways you can help out and be a part of a big celebration.

Here is a link to the items of business before the assembly. https://www.pc-biz.org    Everything from fossil fuel divestment to an apology to the way the church has mistreated LGBTQ/Q people, to you name it, there is an overture about it.

I am a member of COLA (Committee On Local Arrangements) in the media department so I will be there all week.    Here are some links to follow:

The final Sunday, June 25, we will also have a guest preacher.  Veda Gill of the Presbyterian Education Board in Pakistan will talk with us the important ministry of social justice and education in Pakistan.

Blessed Be,

John
